President Obama Speaks On Banning U.S. Commercial Airline Travel Due to the Ebola Epidemic.

On Sunday, October 19, 2014 Fox News published an article titled Obama Reinforces Argument Against Travel Ban, Urges Americans to Resist Ebola 'hysteria'. The recent epidemic of the deadly disease, Ebola, is the hottest news topic being talked about all over the world. Recently, the first case of Ebola was reported in the United States. Not shorty after this case was announced to the public, it was the headline story of almost every news resource in the U.S. There has been much controversy on the topic of Ebola, and how to take further precautions to control and prevent this disease from spreading anymore in the U.S. Today President Obama announced to the public that one method, to temporarily ban commercial air travel, was not ideal. The solution of this controversy was explained by sharing, “Their key objection is that such a ban could prevent needed medical supplies, food and health care workers from reaching Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the West Africa countries hit hardest by the epidemic.” A ban on commercial air travel would have many negative effects outweighing the positive aspects of the ban. Indeed, this disease is highly contagious and deadly, but it will not be stopped unless we fight back, and end it where it started. I think this article is worth reading because many Americans believe that banning air travel is ideal, without knowing the weighing negative effects of this decision. By reading this article, it educates the readers ideas behind the ban and how it would not help, but possibly make situations worse when it comes to prevention and control of the disease.
